Boise beer lovers are invited to take part in an event that will give them a chance to get together with their friends and chase away the winter blues over a glass of locally produced firkin beer.
The Firkin and Frolic beer fest will bring together a wide assortment of the products of local breweries to enjoy, all under one roof. There will also be music, food vendors and much more.
It will be the first event of its kind in the area to put the focus on firkins, and each person who attends will receive their very own customized tasting glass. Items like this can be supplied by a company that produces promotional Drinkware.
A firkin is a specific type of beer that is served from a firkin cask. It is not pasteurized or filtered, and it has not been carbonated either. It is tapped by using a hammer, which, according to the event’s website, can be a very explosive and messy, but this is part of the fun.
The evening is being organized and hosted by the Rotary Club of Boise. It will take place on February 9 in The Basque Center, and early bird tickets, which can be purchased up until January 25, are priced at $12 each. More information, and a chance to buy passes, is available on the Boise Firkin Frolic website.
