Womens history event sheds light on County story

A women’s history day is being planned in Marietta for the notable women in the history of Cobb County, with residents welcome to attend to learn more about the town’s impact.

The 17th Annual Cobb County Women’s History Day Celebration will open its doors to interested parties looking to learn more about Marietta’s history and the notable women who have called the town home. This year’s event will focus on a group of woman librarians and the contributions they have made to Cobb County and its citizens.

The celebration and learning session is being organized by the League of Women Voters of Marietta Cobb. The organizers are assembling a panel of educated and influential women from around the county to share their experiences, answer questions, and be recognized for their efforts. Flyer printing is an effective way to spread the word about such events and celebrations around the town.

Participating librarians will include Jo Lehman of the Cobb County Library System, Jennifer Northrup of The Lovett School, and Nakisha McNeil of the South District of the Cobb Library. Cindi Teasdale, an influential local leader, will moderate the discussions.

The women’s history celebration will be held at the Piedmont Church in Marietta on the morning of Saturday, March 1st, from 10:00 AM until noon. Interested parties can RSVP and purchase tickets online for $10 per person.
