Santa comes to Marietta

Although the annual Marietta Tree Lighting event is cancelled, Santa will still be coming to Marietta in order to open the holiday season.

From Thursday, December 3 through Saturday, December 5, Santa will be traveling through Marietta neighborhoods on a fire truck accompanied by Marietta police. Local children and their families will get to see the Jolly Old Elf and hear his familiar “ho, ho, ho!!” as they wave to him outside their homes.

On the Thursday, he will begin on Lawrence Street and end on South Park Square. Friday will see him begin at the intersection of Haynes Street and Roswell Street heading toward Northcutt Street, and on Saturday morning he will start again at Intersection of Haynes and Roswell turning right onto Park Street and end at North Park Square. Santa’s detailed route and estimated arrivals are posted on the Marietta Square Winter Wonderland website.

Santa will begin his travels at 6:30 pm on Thursday and Friday evenings, and 8:30 am on Saturday morning.

Every weekend in December, Santa will play hide-and-seek in Marietta Square, with his elves revealing his location on Wednesdays. He will be in front of a colorful Christmas tree display and available for photos, with registration required for visits.

Hadley’s Photography will offer three photo purchase options. These include digital downloads, ornaments and a combination package. T-Shirts will be available again this year with the traditional Santa graphic design.
