To work up an appetite for that big turkey dinner, many Marietta runners will be heading out for the annual MUST Gobble Jog.Timed runs are qualifiers for the annual AJC Peachtree Road Race.
The course will begin and end on Marietta Square in Glover Park. Untimed race registration and Packet pickup will begin at 6:30 am.
The timed 10K will kick off an hour later at 7:30 am, then the 1k Fun Run/Walk will begin at 8:45 am. Fifteen minutes later at 9:00 am, those running the timed 5k will leave the starting line. The untimed 5k Run/Walk will start one half hour later at 9:30 am, and kids under nine years old will begin their Tot Trot at 10:30 am.
Timed races will require $30 pre-registration and registration will go up to $35 on October 4, then on November 19 will increase to $45. Untimed 5k and 1k runs will be $25, $30, and $40 respectively on the same dates. The Tot Trot is currently $15 for kids and accompanying adult runner registration is $20.
Members of groups that run in races such as this often wear brightly T tee-shirts sporting their organization’s logo or graphic design.
All proceeds will go to MUST, an organization connecting people who want to help with those in need. Some of its programs include a grocery bus for our older citizens, tutoring program for youth, and an outreach program for teens.
MUST Gobble Jog will take place Thursday, November 26.
