An exciting technological activity lasting several days is sure to help Marietta children learn in a fun way in late June.
Robotics Week is a summer camp program run at the Discover Science Center. It consists of two groups, split up based on age. Those who are from ages six to eight will get to work with Ozobots learning how they function, construct their own robots, and work on learning programming skills to use with Root robots. Kids between ages eight and eleven will work through the building, designing, and programming phases of making a robot using Lego Mindstorms products, as well as working on Root robots for programming practice. Students in both age groups should try to bring a laptop or other device to use during the activities, although a few will be provided to share.
Campers should attend with a pair of snacks, water, and a lunch each day. Closed-toed shoes are required for the duration of the event.
Admission for both age brackets is $335, with an extended hours option costing $385. The latter allows for a later pickup time. For parents with multiple kids, a 10% discount can be applied for additional spots. The registration is available using ActivityHero.com. The regular hours for each date are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm from June 26 to 30, with the extended hours bringing the end to 5:30pm. Flyer printing as an advertisement for activities aimed at children is common.
