A Marietta-based production of a show that tells a classic holiday story will take place in early December over the course of several days.
The Nutcracker is a show in which a young girl has a magical dream after falling asleep near the family Christmas tree. This year’s production will run for four days.
The show is presented by The Georgia Ballet, a professional dance company and school. Working with students who are aged three or older, the school division allows for both those looking for fun and those wanting to make ballet their job to work on their craft or try something new. Lessons are led by pros from across the globe.
The company puts on a series of performances throughout a season. Past productions have included Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, and Remembering Iris. The outreach programs give those with disabilities and those with sensory problems opportunities to experience the art of dance and live shows.
December 1 will see a special edition of the performance, shortened and altered to allow anyone with sensitivities to lights and loud noises the chance to see the show in a more comfortable manner. Seating is open, with tickets ranging from $15 to $35. The start time is 7:00 pm.
Regular performances will run from December 2 to December 4. Tickets here range from $25 to $45. December 2 will have one show at 8:00 pm, while December 3 and 4 will have two shows each, at 2:00pm and 8:00pm, and 3:00pm and 7:00pm, respectively.
The venue is the Jennie T. Anderson Theater. Flyer printing is often used in promotion of stage performances.
