Marietta Square is teeming with holiday events and activities. Santa has arrived, the Christmas tree is lit, and the Open-air Ice Skating Rink is open.
Parents will need to book some time with Santa soon so their littles ones can get pictures taken with him for this year’s Holiday Cards.
The ice rink is open and will be until New Year’s Day, and some of the profits from the tickets will go to Marietta City Schools.
The Festival of Trees is in full array, with themed trees that have been inspired by Marietta City School students and offer a lighted path through its magical forest.
New Year’s Eve on the square will begin with family activities and a Chi-fil-a Cow Drop at 7:00 pm. Miniature plush cows may be purchased for $2.99 and kids can drop them on the cow target to win 52 weeks of Chick-Fil-A. Kids can get their faces painted, enjoy activities and eat at local food trucks.
The full scale celebration will begin at 8 pm with a chicken drop at midnight. Local 24 is a local band that will be playing acoustic and rock covers. Other performers will be the Paul Hand Band playing Beatles, Nirvana, and Led Zeppelin favorites, as well as Hot Rod Walt and the Psycho Devilles, who will be performing until closing.
The fun will be on Marietta Square from now until December 31, and the New Year’s Eve celebrations will begin at 6:00 pm.
