The Marietta area has outdoor events for the next few weeks.
Marietta children can run a quarter, half, or full mile in Track or Treat. Event organizers suggest that kids from four to six years old and their parents participate in the quarter-mile run, those aged seven to nine run the half mile, and everyone else runs the full one mile.
After the run, all kids are invited to trick-or-treat around the park. Activities will include a craft station, inflatables, face painting and a costume contest.
Many Marietta runners will be spending Veterans Day participating in the Pennies-With-A-Purpose-5K. The event will begin with a family-friendly untimed one mile Fun Run. The chip-timed 5k will start an hour later.
Kids can enjoy the Fun Run with their parents, then play games like Giant Jenga and Three-in-a-Row and enjoy the bounce house while they wait for one or both of their parents to finish the 5K. Families at events such as this sometimes like to take family photos during the event and include them with the ones they take to Stationery printers to be included in family Calendars.
Track or Treat will be next Sunday, October 28 from 1:30 pm until 4:00 at Swift Cantrell Park 3140 Old 41 Highway NW, Kennesaw.
Pennies-with-A-Purpose 5 K will be Sunday, November 11 starting at 7:30 am for the Fun Run and 8:00 am for the 5K, beginning at Town Center Mall, 400 Barrett Parkway, Kennesaw.
