The Junior League of Cobb-Marietta will hold its 11th Annual Marietta Mardi Gras 5K, Fun Run + Walk fundraiser a few weeks into February.
The 5K will be USATF certified and a Peachtree Qualifier. Registration fee will be $35 for the 5K Run/Walk, $20 for the 1K Fun Run and $15 for the Tot Trot. Virtual runners, who take on 5K in their own time and place, can sign up for $35. Those who just want the swag can register for $35.
‘Krewes’ of six or more members are being formed, and when the sixth member registers, all will receive a $3 discount. Youth teams will be eligible for a prize. Groups that form for this event are encouraged to dress in shirts sporting the team, family, or group’s Logo Design.
There will be a costume contest so runners and walkers will want to wear their best Mardi Gras jester, king, or queen paraphernalia.
Packets can be picked up on February 20 at 1311 Johnson Ferry Road #160, Road Runner Sports-Marietta, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Registration on race day will begin at 7:00 am, and packets can also be picked up during that time. The 5K starts at 8:00 am, the 1K at 9:00 am and the Tot Trot at 9:15 am. An awards ceremony will begin at 9:30 am.
The race will be Saturday, February 22nd at Historic Marietta Square Glover Park, 50 N. Park Square.
