Marietta organization to bring back annual festive event

A company with a long history in Marietta will be bringing back its yearly Christmas celebration in early December.

Holiday Pops! is a musical event from the Georgia Symphony Orchestra (GSO). Starting all the way back in 1951 as The Marietta Music Club, the organization has continued to grow and evolve, growing to 548 musicians across all of subdivisions.

These include a chorus, an orchestra, a youth training program, and a group focused on jazz music. The GSO Chorus and their director Bryan Black will join GSO and conductor/director Timothy Verville for the performances.

The audience will hear a blend of both old and new Christmas tunes, with a portion of the concert including an opportunity to sing along with the performers. As an additional bonus, Santa will be available post-show for some festive pictures with attendees.

There are two showings of the concert, with both of them taking place on the same date. Tickets go for between $15 and $45, and these can be found through either Arts ATL or GSO’s webpage.

The show is open to people of any age. Promoting music events like this one may include flyer printing to spread the word across the community.

The matinee edition is scheduled for 3:00pm to 5:00pm. The evening show will take place from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. Both are scheduled for the 2nd of December at the Marietta Performing Arts Center, Georgia.
