The 2018 Glover Park Concert Series is set to get underway, with everyone invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the lawn, or tables and chairs for the street, and enjoy the free concerts.
Six shows will be performed, with one on each of the last Fridays of the month from April through September. The series will begin with a bang as the first performance will be the rock band Band X. This is a high-energy Atlanta-based party band of musicians, dancers, and singers. The band plays classic rock and party rock, jazz, pop and R&B from the 60s through the 90s and includes current dance music.
May’s group will be Electric Avenue, an 80s pop tribute band. These guys will play renditions of songs made popular by groups such as Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, Kenny Loggins, Prince, and David Bowie.
June will be classical soul by Bogey & the Viceroy, July will have Carolina Beach music by Grains of Sand, and August will get back to rock and roll with the Crystal Clear Band. The final performance for this series will be a variety party band, the Mustangs, in September.
Fans of these groups no doubt will be going online and asking members at the event for Promotional Products. All concerts will start at 8:00 pm at Glover Park on Marietta Square, 50 N. Park NE, with the first one tonight, April 27.
