The Marietta Mardi Gras 5K Fun Run and Walk is coming in early March. The event will include a 5k Run/Walk, a 1K Fun Run and a Tot Trot- a 50-yard dash for kids ages two through five. This will be the tenth year for the race.
This race will be USATF-certified and a Peachtree Qualifier. Participants are invited to come dressed in their Mardi Gras best to be entered in the costume contest and krewes of six or more members are invited to attend and will get special sign-up pricing.
Prizes for the best costumes, biggest team, most youth team spirit and most team spirit will be awarded after all the races at the 9:30 ceremony. Awards will also be given to male and female winners in 14 age categories and in the Open and Masters Divisions.
The 5k Run/Walk registration fee is $40. The 1K Fun Run registration will be $20 before and $25 after February 16th . The Tot Trot will be $15. All runners will receive custom finisher medals and shirts sporting the event’s graphic design.
The Marietta Mardi Gras 5K Fun Run and Walk will take place Saturday, March 2nd beginning and ending in Historic Marietta Square. The 5K will begin at 8:00 am, the Fun Run at 9:00 and the Tot Trot at 9:15.
