Marietta holds first annual egg scramble

Marietta Parks, Recreation and Facilities invites children from the ages of 0 to 10 to participate in its upcoming inaugural Easter Egglow.

Children need to be equipped with flashlights, baskets, Bags, or any other container in order to search for eggs after sundown. Three complex fields will be teeming with thousands of eggs for kids to find.

A sports showcase for five-to-ten-year-olds is scheduled from 3:00 pm until 6:30 pm at Field 3. Soccer will be at 6:30 pm, followed by lacrosse at 7:00 pm, and ending with flag football at 7:30 pm. Field 3 will also have games, inflatables, concessions and a DJ, all of which will start at 6:30 pm. The Easter Bunny will arrive at 7:00 pm for pictures with the children.

Field 2 will open at 8:30 pm for a hunt for eggs designed for kids aged three or younger. At 8:45 pm, the four-through-six-year-olds can scramble for eggs on Field 2, and the seven-through-ten-year-olds can head for Field 1 for their scramble at 9:00 pm.

Usually at inaugural events such as this, the city will hire photographers to take pictures that can be included in their visitor guide brochure printing.

The fun will be on Friday, April 12 from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm (after the kids in Field 1 finish their hunt) at the Franklin Gateway Sports Complex, 1034 Franklin Gateway SE.
