A local company will be hosting an exciting sensory-friendly concert experience in Marietta in mid-April.
The Georgia Symphony Orchestra is a group that has been together for over 60 years. Performances with different themes are put on regularly throughout the year.
This particular concert is known as “Sensory Friendly for the Family – Spring Concert.” Attendees are allowed to walk around, sing, vocalize, dance, and talk while music is being played. Ushers at the venue will help everyone find a seat. There is also an area for those who may get overwhelmed to go to if they need a break. The selections may be a tad louder than past concerts, so anyone with a higher sensitivity to sound may want to bring some type of ear covering.
Prior to the main event, guests are able to get up close to the instruments in the Instrument Petting Zoo. Some will have staff along with them to help everyone experience the items fully and safely.
Tickets can be purchased through a link provided on the orchestra’s website. They come in at $11.10 with the fee for convenience included. Flyer printing is frequently used to promote experiences surrounding music.
Two shows are available on the concert date, which is April 15. These start at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm at the Marietta Performing Arts Center. The performance portion will run for about 50 minutes, with the total event lasting two hours.
