Marietta gets ready to march

Over two thousand parade participants are getting ready for the East Cobber Parade & Festival coming in September. This is known as the Candy Parade as most of the floats will be tossing candy to the spectators.

Marching bands, over eighty floats and classic cars will be leaving from the south parking lot at Mt. Bethel Elementary School. The parade route will go south on Johnson Ferry Road, down the Olde Towne Parkway and end at the Marietta Square Famer’s Market. Whenever marching bands are involved in a parade, Banners are usually a must-have item to distinguish them from others.

A festival will begin right after the parade. Arts and crafts and carnival games will be located in the Johnson Ferry Baptists Church parking lot. There will also be live entertainment, food and beverages.

This event has been organized to promote economic development in our area by providing a venue for local businesses to meet prospective and existing customers. Representatives from these local businesses and non-profits will be passing out information about their missions, goods and services in Brochures and Flyers and giving away free samples and discount coupons.

The parade will begin and festival will be from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm, September 16th at the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta.
