Marietta gets outdoors at annual May-retta Daze

May-retta (based on the original pronunciation of Marietta) Daze Arts and Crafts festival will take place as has been the tradition during the first weekend in May.

Local Georgia artisans will be showcasing their handmade arts and crafts items in genres such as candles, soap, fabric, glass, metal woodwork, pottery, and painting. Some display booths such as the basket booth will have the craft being made during the event. Some homemade goodies such as cheese will be available for purchase.

Local talent will be performing live acoustic music on the Glover Park stage.

May-etta Daze Arts and Crafts will be from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm this Saturday, May 1 and from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 2 at Historic Marietta Square’s Glover Park, 50 Park Square.

The weekly Marietta Square Farmers Market that has traditionally been part of the festival has been temporarily moved to Mill Street Parking Lot.

Produce such as tomatoes, onions, beans, potatoes, and other in-season fruits and vegetables can be pre-ordered online from vendors and picked up on Saturdays.

Other items sold at the weekly market include honey, preserves, jams, jellies, fruit pies, salsa, and wholegrain breads. Those interested in growing their own can buy herbs and garden plants. The market is on Saturdays, from 9:00 am until noon.

Vendors, artists and craftspeople, and stage performers usually come to events such as these supplied with plenty of Business Cards for those wishing to contact them later.
