The City of Marietta current Management Development Program will be presenting a 5K Shamrock Shuffle later this month.
A fundraiser supporting the Marietta Police Athletic League, runners of all skill levels, as well as walkers and strollers, will be welcome. This will be a family run, so children are welcome also, with those as young as eight years old among those to have already signed up.
For those who are into running competitively, the Marietta Shamrock Shuffle 5K will be a certified AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier. Times will be available immediately after the race.
All runners and walkers will receive free tees, other Promotional Products and goodies when they pick up their race packets. These can be collected at the City Hall the day before the event, or on the day itself before the race begins.
Participants may want to study the route map, although the actual route will be well marked with cones, blue-painted symbols, nails, and washers.
The event will also include a St. Paddy’s Day costume contest which, children of all ages may enter.
Entrance fee will be $35 and registration will end at 11:59 am on March 17. The race will be the following day, March 18, at Marietta Square, 50 North Park Square. It will begin at 8:00 am and end around 12:00 noon.
