Marietta runners will be anticipating two 5Ks coming in March.
Hoppin’ Into Spring 5K, on Saturday, March 7 will take runners through Marietta. This race will begin and end at the Red Hare Beer Garden, 1998 Delk Industrial Blvd. SE. After the race runners can relax with live music, food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic (Red Hare Root Beer) drinks. Special Red Hare 5K glasses sporting the event’s red rabbit graphic design will go to all runners.
The usual awards will be given in the overall and top finishers in five-year age divisions. The 5K begins at 8:00 am.
The following Saturday, March 14, runners can take on the Marietta Shamrock Shuffle 5K. This run-walk will begin and end in Marietta Square, and participates whether new to running/walking or seasoned veterans are invited to join in.
Participants will receive goodies and T-Shirts when they pick up their packets between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm at 510 Lawrence Street NE, March 13.
The Marietta Police Athletic League’s PAL program will receive all the proceeds. The local PAL police officers interact with about 400 youth through recreation, sports, education and mentoring programs. Adult registration is $30 and kids 12 and under can run for $20.
Marietta Shamrock Shuffle 5K is scheduled from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, in Marietta Square, 50 North Park Square.
