Marietta celebrates 4th in the Park

Independence Day festivities are being planned for the 4th of July, with our annual 4th in the Park Celebration.

The event will kick off with the Let Freedom Ring Parade. Over 30,000 spectators are expected to turn out to view the 110 scout, local business, civic organization, and beauty queen entries including 2,000 participants as they travel down Roswell Street and end at the North Marietta Parkway. The two-hour parade will step off at 10:00 am in the parking lot of the Roswell Street Baptist Church, 774 Roswell St. NE.

Before the parade, both people in the parade and spectators can purchase special $20 Fourth of July T-Shirts sporting this year’s red, white, and blue graphic design.

Following the parade, a festival will be in full swing. The park will feature a kids’ zone, food and free concerts – the first being Scott Thompson at noon. A bell ringing ceremony will be at 2:00 pm and another concert featuring Bogey & the Viceroy will begin at 8:00 pm. Fireworks are scheduled for dusk.

A large Arts and Crafts show will be in the park. Local artists and craft people will be showcasing and selling their original pieces. These artisans usually carry Business Cards with them if anyone wants to get in touch with them after the festivities.

Marietta’s Fourth in the Park will be Saturday, July 4th from 10:00 am until after the fireworks in Marietta Square, 39-75 East Park Square.
