In early August, Marietta will hold the East Cobb Triathlon, which will be the 4th triathlon of six scheduled for the 2019 Five Start Triathlon Season.
Adults will have three distance options and the kids will get to participate in a variety of races.
The Olympic Distance has a $70 entrance fee, the Sprint and Super Sprint will cost $55. Olympic, Sprint and Super Sprint relays will cost $40, $35, and $35 respectively. Kids’ races will cost $50.
The swimming leg of the race will take place in the indoor pool; the adult bike course will be on roads surrounding the center and the run will be on local paved sidewalks and park ground paths. The kids’ run will be on courses on closed roads and on the center’s property.
Olympic distances for the adults will be 10k for the run, 24 miles for the bike ride and 1000 meters for the swim. The Sprint will have a 5k run, a 13-mile bike trip, and a 400-meter swim. The Super Sprint will be a 2.25-mile run, an 8-mile bike ride and a 25-meter swim. Kids’ distances will be according to age.
Relay teams that go out for events such as this often like to get T-Shirts printed with a graphic design. The East Cobb Triathlon is slated for Saturday, August 3 from 7:30 am until noon at Mountain View Aquatic Center, 2650 Gordy Parkway.
