The Peach State Depression Glass Club will be presenting its 42nd Annual Collectible Glass Show and Sale toward the end of July.
The event will showcase glass from the 19th Century, the Depression era, and mid-20th Century. Items for the home such as vases, lamps, candlesticks, dishes, and stems will be on display and most will be available for purchase.
A selection of 28 exhibitors will be talking with guests and displaying their collections of pottery, kitchenware, and glass items for sale. Many will have Business Cards available for anyone wishing to contact them at a future time.
A display ‘What’s in Your Kitchen Cabinet?’ will depict a 1960s kitchen cabinet with nostalgic glassware such as blue and clear Pyrex from Corning Glass Company, and Fire King jadeite from Anchor Hocking.
On the Saturday, the Everglade-Cambridge Glass Company will talk about its unusual line of eight patterns of Everglade Swamp fauna and flora it produced in the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s. An hour and a half later, the brightly colored ‘Moon and Stars’ patterns produced by the L.E. Smith Glass Company since 1920s will be discussed. Bob Dahihofer will be talking about the opalescent ovenware the H.C. Fry Glass Company produced during the 1920s, and on Sunday, Cynthia Hillman will discuss Pyrex.
The show will be at the Cobb County Civic Center’s Hudgins Hall, 548 South Marietta Parkway on July 28 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, and on July 29 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
