Community event prepares Marietta students for return to school

A back-to-school event is being planned for Marietta next month, with the local community coming together to help local children prepare for the upcoming school year.

The Sixth Annual Back-to-School Cobb Community Event will start in a few weeks. It will bring more resources to local students and educators to ensure the best learning experience possible for Marietta’s youth. The event, led by Artportunity Knocks, a local non-profit, aims to empower youth through education and the arts.

The event is being held with the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office. Attendees can anticipate concessions, activities for toddlers, kids, and teens, and parent and educator resources. Children can enjoy a safe space at this event to have fun and prepare for a return to school with the resources required to thrive. Printing services are a fantastic way to help students and educators at such community events.

Parents will attend the event to learn about after-school support options for their children. Donations from around the community will also provide educators with resources for professional development and school supplies. Snacks and refreshments will be available to attendees throughout the event to ensure comfort and convenience.

The Fair Oaks Recreation Center will host the community event on Saturday, July 13th, starting at 10:00 AM and ending at noon. General admission is free for students and their parents, and reservations can be made online.
