Macon to host art graduate exhibit talk

The McEachern Art Center in Macon is hosting a series of art talks, TAUT: MFAs Revisited, showcasing recent Master of Fine Art graduates and their works. Next month’s talk will be focusing on artist Christina Foard.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, last year’s MFA graduates of the Lamar Dodd School of Art were unable to properly exhibit their works. To remedy this, the event series TAUT: MFAs Revisited was devised so that these graduates could share their works with the public. TAUT refers to the term “tautology,” which means restating a thesis for emphasis. The works on view at the TAUT exhibition include areas such as painting, drawing, video, and sculpture.

February’s spotlight will be on Christina Foard, whose medium is painting with an exploration into sculpture. Her installation is entitled, “In the Cacophony of Voices, I Only Remember What Wasn’t Said.” The work involves wall and floor-based objects made of painted wood, wire, felt, foam, and silk.

The artist talk is scheduled for Thursday, Friday 11, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the museum's website. The venue location is 332 2nd Street, Macon.
