A nonprofit will host the Girl Power STEM Camp in Macon next month, and it will provide young girls with a week of educational fun and peer socialization.
Real I.M.P.A.C.T Center is a Macon-based nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for youth to gain exposure to character development, financial literacy, cultural awareness, and educational topics. It offers summer camps that are themed in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields.
The week-long summer camp in July will be specifically designed for girls in third through eighth grades, with sessions being broken up into two segments: rising third graders through rising fifth graders and rising sixth graders through eighth graders. The camp will be an opportunity to show girls a different side of the often-intimidating STEM fields. The students will learn through a variety of fun projects, such as flying drones, using math to create art, engineering unique constructions, and learning how to start a business.
Educational workshops such as this are often advertised through flyer printing, with Flyers distributed in places such as libraries, community centers, and school hallways.
The STEM camp is scheduled for July 25 through July 29. It will take place at Central Georgia Technical College on 3300 Macon Tech Drive, Building I. The registration fee is $75, which includes a daily lunch, daily snack, and T-shirt.
