The 10th Annual Journey Ride will take place in Macon next month to raise awareness and support for the neurodiversity and autism community.
The biking event has raised support for the neurodiversity community in Macon for the past 10 years. The event has produced family events, scholarships, enrichment programs, and more for neurodivergent individuals and their families living in middle Georgia, as well as funding for the Central Georgia Autism organization, the organizer of the event.
The ride will offer routes that are suitable for beginners, advanced cyclists and everyone in between. There will be three biking routes of 10, 30, and 60 miles that will traverse downtown Macon and the Jones County countryside. The ride will also offer SAG (support and gear) teams manning the event with plenty of rest stops, refreshments, and a post-ride meal at the end of the ride.
Packet pickup will take place at Bike Tech Macon the day before the ride. In their packet, participants will also receive a complimentary long-sleeve shirt with the event Logo Design on it.
The Journey Ride will take place on Saturday, March 16, beginning at 8:00 am. It will be held at Sandy Beach Park, Lake Tobesofkee, which is located at 6880 Moseley Dixon Road. The cost to register for the race is $50 per person.
