Decatur to discuss new novel
Author V.E. Schwab will appear in Decatur for a live event celebrating her latest novel, Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil.
Charis Books and More will host the event in partnership with the Georgia Center for the Book. The gathering will include a reading, a comprehensive Q&A session, and the distribution of pre-signed books.
Schwab, best known for The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue as well as the Shades of Magic series, returns with a genre-spanning story exploring mortality, desire, and the intertwined lives of three women across centuries and continents. The narrative spans from 16th-century Spain to 19th-century England to modern-day Boston, drawing thematic connections through layered storytelling and dark fantasy elements.
Joining Schwab onstage is Dr. Susana Morris, Associate Professor at Georgia Tech and co-founder of the Crunk Feminist Collective. A noted scholar on race, gender, and literature, Morris will moderate the event and contribute to the discussion surrounding the novel’s themes.
A Single Ticket—which includes a copy of the novel and one seat—is priced at $32.50. A Couple's Ticket, providing two seats and one book, is available for the same price. Limited free tickets without a novel are also offered. All pre-signed copies must be collected at the event location or at Charis Books and More.

The event takes place Saturday, June 21st from 2 pm to 3:30 pm at 308 Clairemont Ave, Decatur, Georgia.
