Port St. Lucie to host Jamaican independence celebration

Residents in the Port St. Lucie area can look forward to enjoying a taste of rich Caribbean culture during a weekend celebration of Jamaican independence.

The annual Jamaican Independence Day Celebration will be held in early August, featuring a rich assortment of attractions for attendees. This fun-filled day is a celebration of Jamaican music, food, dancing, and way of life. The musical lineup includes such performers as Leroy Sibbles, Nigy Boy, and Junior Tucker. Platinum Sound, Renegade Sound, and DJ Sonny will provide additional musical support. Business cards and other services from print shops are often used to promote such gatherings.

The Port St. Lucie Annual Jamaican Independence Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 9, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The venue is Cloverfield Park, located at 31 Piazza Drive in St. Lucie. General admission tickets are available in advance for $40, with a premium VIP front-stage view ticket for $70. Physical tickets may be purchased at Jerk City, D&D Meats, or Lady P Jamaican Jerk Restaurants.

Ticket purchase includes admission to the afterparty at the Polish American Social Club. In the event of inclement weather, the celebration will be moved to the Club, which is at 343 Northwest Prima Vista Boulevard in Port St. Lucie.
