Port St. Lucie breaks ground on new commercial district

Port St. Lucie’s dynamic economic environment got another boost recently when contractors began working on a new riverfront development.

Private developers and city leaders officially broke ground in late October on a new $15M entertainment and food complex. The Grove at The Port District, a public-private partnership, will bring about 200 new jobs to town and may draw upwards of 400,000 visitors a year. The development anchors efforts aimed at revitalizing the St. Lucie River area and will bring food, culture, gathering areas, and kid-friendly play areas into one convenient location.

Plans for The Grove include seven diverse bars and restaurants, and developers hope to make it the new culinary center of St. Lucie. SūDā, a real estate development and design firm, will handle restaurant development for the project. The Atlas Group, an acclaimed hospitality company with national reach, will operate the restaurants upon completion. Banner printing and other graphic design services are useful to signal grand openings.

Shannon Martin, Port St. Lucie mayor, recently expressed her enthusiasm for the city’s vision, saying:

“The Grove at The Port District represents the vision, character, and vibrancy that make Port St. Lucie such a special place.”

Sustainability is built into the design, with features including green roofs, water conservation systems, designs for energy efficiency, and use of locally sourced building materials.

The Grove will open in phases beginning in early 2027.
