What's Happening in Port Saint Lucie, FL…

National home retailer comes to Port St. Lucie

Port St. Lucie is enjoying dynamic growth, gaining about 10,000 residents annually. Two real estate development firms are combining efforts to bring a major home retailer here to meet the area’s growing home improvement needs.

PEBB Enterprises and Banyan Development have announced construction plans for a new Lowe’s store in the Shoppes at Southern Grove. The plans involve 134,000 feet of floor space, which will include a garden center. The store’s location is at the corner of I-95 and Becker Road. Construction is now underway with an expected opening date in 2026. A common way to announce new retail offerings is through banner printing.

Additionally, the group plans to offer six outparcels, varying in size from .5 to 1.8 acres. Several national retailers are currently in negotiation for some of that space.

The store will primarily serve Tradition, Port St. Lucie’s new master-planned community. The 8,300-acre community’s neighborhoods will surround a retail district, easing access to shopping and dining. The development is expected to anchor further interest in the area.

PEBB Enterprises Vice President of Leasing, Jenny Schuemann, spoke of her enthusiasm for the project:

“Tradition is experiencing tremendous growth, with over 38,000 new homes planned for development in the surrounding area. This new Lowe’s, along with other retailers we are actively negotiating with, will serve the needs of this rapidly expanding community.”
