Recent news suggests that it could snow in Hialeah soon, a rare event in southern Florida, but it will not be falling from the sky.
Instead, 50 tons of the white stuff will be the centerpiece of the upcoming annual celebration, Santa’s Snow Blast. This has been a fixture of winter in Hialeah for years, giving people, especially children, who rarely see snow a chance to enjoy something different.
This year’s event is hosted by Esteban Bovo, Jr., the mayor, and the Hialeah Chamber of Commerce. The main attraction of the event is the Snow Pile, but there will also be food trucks on hand with goodies for people to purchase, as well as bounce houses, live entertainment, and rides. Attendees will also have a chance to get their picture taken with Santa Claus himself.
The Snow Blast this year is being held in Milander Park, at 4800 Palm Avenue, a change from previous locations. People who would like to be there just watch the fun are welcome, as the event and parking are free. However, there is a $6 charge for the Snow Pile and $6 for photos with Santa. For $15, people can enjoy all the rides, and for $18, attendees will receive a wristband that provides access to all events.
Snow Blast is set for December 10, from 5.00 pm until 9.00 pm. Organizers of events like these can work with banner printing companies to create seasonal outdoor decorations.
