Milander Park combines two Hialeah events

Hialeah is planning two events in one for residents.

Milander Park will be the setting for the upcoming Back to School Bash, organized by the City of Hialeah. Throughout the event, school supplies and Backpacks will be given away to attendees. Additional giveaways and raffles are also planned. The Bash is a great way to help parents alleviate some of the expenses of returning to school. Supplies will be distributed free as long as they are available, but children have to be present to receive them.

After the first event ends, it will be time to enjoy the National Night Out with the Hialeah Police Department. This relaxed evening gives residents a chance to meet and chat with local law enforcement officials in a calm, fun, non-emergency atmosphere. The nation-wide event is designed to help rebuild trust between citizens and their police.

The first National Night Out was held in 1984, created by Matt Peskin of the National Association of Town Watch. The first evening was simply people sitting outside with their porch lights on to encourage a sense of community. About 400 communities took part, but interest was immediate and now 16,000 communities, on average, take part.

The events are scheduled for August 5, with the Bash beginning at 5.00 pm, and the National Night Out following immediately after the Bash ends. Events like this can be enhanced if organizers use banner printing to create fun decorations.
