Milford unites for mental health

When it comes to mental health, everyone can play a role, and a Milford event will soon see the community pull together in support of this cause.

The area will be celebrating Mental Health Month with its Festival of Mental Health. It will show those living with mental illness that the community stands behind them while also providing information about its supports and services.

The celebration will feature four hours of fun, and live music will add an extra touch of excitement to the day. A variety of vendors have been invited to set up in the market area, and a resource fair will connect the attendees with community groups and organizations. Food trucks will be rolling in as well.

One of the parts of the afternoon that the planners hope will be popular is its tug of war competition, and the entries can be registered for $100.00 per team. The proceeds from the day will help fund local youth mental health initiatives.

Health fairs and other community events may draw a large crowd. Banner printing and other services for a special occasion can be obtained from area printers.

The Milford Festival for Mental Health will bring the fun to Eisenhower Park on Saturday, May 3. It is being hosted by the Milford Prevention Council, and more details are available on its Patch listing, including a QR code to register a tug of war team.
