Milford school to host kitchen-themed summer camp

Milford kids hoping for an alternative to the typical summer camp offerings find a local cooking school’s week of cookery the perfect opportunity.

The Fig Cooking School will be offering a day camp that will use hands-on techniques to teach cooking and other life skills in a fun way. The sessions are suitable even if a camper has never even boiled an egg or made a slice of toast, and the whole week will have a theme of “Holidays Around the World”.

The participants will tour the world through food, and will enjoy making and eating dishes from all over the globe. The kids will also learn about various holiday celebrations, and since they venue is close to Walnut Beach, the campers will also be spending some of their time out enjoying the sun.

This summer culinary session will have space for 20 participants, and it is restricted to youth between the ages of 10 to 17. Offering each camper a souvenir recipe book of the dishes they will make during a week like this will help to encourage them to keep on learning, and a company that offers binding and other printing services will be able to craft them.

The Fig Cooking School will be bringing kids into the kitchen for this holiday themed week from July 13 to July 17.
