Milford sandcastle competition set to go virtual

Each year, the Milford Arts Council hosts a sandcastle building contest, and even COVID-19 will not be able to keep this popular event from hitting the sand.

To help keep people safe, this annual competition will be hosted in an online format. The organizers explained that they welcome submissions from anywhere, whether close to home or on the other side of the globe.

To take part, all people need to do is build their sand construction, and when it is complete, take a photo and submit it to the competition. People of all skill levels and ages are encouraged to take part, and the planners noted that they wished to thank Milford Bank for its generous support.

After the deadline, the judges will review all the entries and prizes will be awarded. The categories include individual, family and “quaranteam”, and a People’s Choice prize is also up for grabs.

Moving an in-person function to an online format is one way that an organization will be able to keep hosting planned activities in a safe way, and a printing services company can be called on to help. They can prepare a variety of materials that make for effective marketing tools.

This virtual day at the beach will be accepting entries up until August 28. All submissions will be welcome.
