Milford is about to be treated to a shucking good time, and this seafood filled experience will showcase the unique taste of locally harvested oysters.
Oysters harvested by Briarpatch Enterprises, Inc. will be the stars of the show for the Milford Oyster Festival, which will be set up in the city’s downtown. It will run for eight hours, and just as in previous years, the fun will kick off the night before with the Oyster Eve celebration.
At least 30,000 oysters will be on the menu for the festival, and there will also be cold beer on tap, along with wine. A craft market is also on the agenda, and to help keep a smile on everyone’s face, live entertainment is in the works. The full schedule for the festivities will be released soon.
The event was the recipient of the Best Of Milford Region 2023 award for Best Festival, Local Event, and Outdoor Event. It offers many sponsorship opportunities for area companies to take advantage of, each of which comes with special marketing perks, such as having each supporter’s Logo Design added to the materials used to promote it to the community and further afield.
The Milford Oyster Festival will be celebrating 49 years of serving up fresh seafood and family fun on Saturday, August 19. Oyster Eve will be held on August 18 at Fowler Field.
