Milford’s first responders will be going head to head for a cause, and the public has been asked to join in their efforts.
During the blood drive, which will be organized by The Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross and The Connecticut Epilepsy Advocate, members of the public will be giving the gift of life. Their contributions will help people undergoing surgery, who have been in an accident, or need blood or blood products for other medical reasons.
For one day, the Woodruff Family YMCA will be the site for the blood drive, and when people arrive to participate, they will be asked whether they are donating for Milford’s Bravest (firefighters) or Milford’s Finest (the police), and the winner will receive bragging rights. The planners of this yearly friendly competition explained that they are hoping as many local residents take part as possible, and all support is welcome.
A poster printing company will be able to play a role in the success of an event like this by making sure everyone who lives in the area is aware of when and when it will take place. Occasionally, small Corporate Gifts are given out at such drives to thank the donors.
The Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive has been scheduled for this Friday, April 30th. The support of the public will be greatly appreciated.
