A Milford nature center will soon be receiving a visit from a group of area birders, and it will help them to open the spring season.
The Audubon Society Coastal Center will be welcoming a field trip from the New Haven Bird Club. It is located at 1 Milford Point Road, and the group will stay at the Center for three hours.
The location, which is one of the most popular spots for spotting birds for local enthusiasts, boasts marsh, shore, and other types of habitats, and birds may be passing through on their way north. Participants can expect to see a wide assortment of species including raptors, and with some luck, the attendees may even be able to spot a “lifer” to add to their personal list. Jalna Jaeger will serve as the leader for the outing, and she can be contacted with questions by phone at 203-246-0885 or via mail at jalnabird@gmail.com.
Bird watching has undergone a resurgence in popularity in recent years. Simple field guides, species checklists, and other materials can be crafted by Stationery printers for groups that engage in environmental activities.
This visit to the Audubon Society Coastal Center has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 3. Everyone is asked to meet up at the venue for this free event at 8:00 am.
