Both Greeley residents and visitors may want to stop by a local museum that has a special exhibit showing what life was like during the Cold War era.
“The Atomic Age” exhibit is running until early December, and it is open weekly from Thursday to Saturday. It will explore what the 13-minute warming meant for the area if it sounded, and it may be of interest to all ages.
The exhibit will showcase the impact the Cold War had on Weld County and how, because it was home to Atlas Missile launch sites, the area may have been a target for attack. Visitors will find out how area residents went about their daily lives knowing the sirens could sound at any time, and also how they prepared for this potential disaster with fallout shelters and other means.
Local museums give both community members and visitors an opportunity to learn more about its past and how this may influence its present and future. Special exhibit signage, small, themed Promotional Products to offer for sale, and other custom materials can all be prepared by a poster printing company.
Greeley History Museum is offering his step back into the Atomic Age until December 11. It is located at 714 8th Street, and is open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
