Greeley showcases American birthday

Bittersweet Park in Greeley is set to offer America a hearty salute with a special event that will be bursting with state and national pride.

The current year is America’s 250th birthdays as well as Colorado’s 150th, and to mark the occasion, at least 400 flags will be installed for the America 250 - Colorado 150 event. They will be in place for three days, and the festivities will open with a morning of community engagement.

The opening ceremony for the display will welcome the public, and local youth will be featured in the address. There will be lots of patriotic photo ops, and the well-loved American dishes of apple pie and hot dogs will be served. The function is being brought to the community thanks to the efforts of The Exchange Club of Greeley, the Union Colony Exchange Club and the City of Greeley itself. The celebration will begin at 10:00 am on its scheduled date.

Local events can be an important part of building a strong and engaged community. A banner pining company will be pleased to prepare custom decor that can add the fishing touch to a special activity.

The America 250 - Colorado 150 festival of flags will open this morning of family friendly fun on August 1st. The flags will remain in place at Bittersweet Park until August 2nd.
