Torrance workshop to explain the value of advanced directives

An information session will be taking place in Torrance that will give those who participate a chance to learn more about advanced directives and how they can give a person peace of mind.

The Advanced Directive Workshop, which is being presented courtesy of the Providence Center for Human Caring, will provide an introduction to these documents and explain how they can be used. They outline what sorts of medical care a person wants and who can make decisions for them if they are not able to do so themselves. An organization that will be hosting an event like this can have Brochures and other informational materials for the day supplied by a printer.

According to the seminar’s organizers, anyone over the age of 18 can sign one of these directives, and they further advise anyone who is crafting theirs to discuss it with both their families and their doctor. This way, they will know the person’s wishes and will take them into considerations should they ever be asked to make a decision on their behalf. Suggestions on how to start the conversation will be just one of the topics covered during the workshop.

The information session, which will be held on February 3 in Suite B1 of 5315 Torrance Blvd, is being offered free of charge. Additional details are available on The Institute for Human Caring’s website.
