The city of Torrance and the LA Galaxy have announced a partnership that will keep the Torrance Multi-Use Sports Complex available to the community.
The city will be leasing the complex from the state until December 2028 and it will be renamed the LA Galaxy Sports Complex.
Featured at the state-of-the-art facility, which spans 6.2 acres, are energy-efficient sports lighting and high-quality synthetic turf for the ability to play football, soccer, rugby, lacrosse, and other sports all year round. New programming planned for the facility will include soccer camps and clinics, an adult soccer league, and Galaxy Juniors and Skills classes. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts to offer more details about such programs. The facility is on Maple Avenue and near the Torrance Civic Center.
Patric J. Furey, mayor of Torrance, said that services and support for young people have been a priority in the community. He said that it is the responsibility of the city and the mayor to promote the wellness and physical fitness of the city’s youth. He is appreciative of the partnership with LA Galaxy that will enable this popular field to remain opened.
The city is planning to invest in the facility with several capital improvements, while LA Galaxy will ensure that the field is open and accessible to the community throughout the year. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony in April.
