Each spring, Japan welcomes the arrival of the cherry blossom season with a variety of festivals and other special occasions, and Torrance will be hosting its own celebration in honor of the event.
Torrance’s Cherry Blossom Festival has been scheduled for Columbia Park. The public is welcome to come and participate in a day of Asian-themed activities.
The organizers of the festivities have planned a full slate of fun, which will include a chance to learn more about the culture of Korea, Japan, the Philippines, India and other Asian nations. There will be an assortment of live performances of dance, folk music, and other entertainment, and local crafters will have displays set up where they will be showcasing and selling their works. Those who attend the function can take part in the face painting and origami lessons that will be on offer, and there will be other activities to participate in as well.
Area crafters and artisan who would like to be included in the day are invited to contact ERappoport@TorranceCA.Gov for more details about how they can do so. A printing services provider in the area can be called upon to supply Packaging materials and other items for any vendors who take part in this type of public occasion.
