The Torrance Police Department takes great pride in the connection it has formed between itself and members of the public, and it is hosting and event to help make that bond even stronger.
The upcoming session of Coffee With A Cop will give people an opportunity to get to know the police officers who serve their neighborhoods on a one-on-one basis. They can ask whatever questions they may have and voice concerns. It is hoped that this will put a more personal face on policing and further open dialogue between cops and their community.
The session is intended to be informal and relaxing, and is part of a larger movement, supported by the US Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, that is taking place all across the country. The public can also engage the officers to learn more about how their facet of the criminal justice performs its duties on a day to day basis.
