Torrance area residents who are interested in adding home grown microgreens to their menu may wish to mark their Calendars for an event that will be held in their local area.
The Learn to Grow Microgreens workshop will be facilitated by Farmer Joe, who is an expert in the field. He will be sharing secrets of growing these healthful sprouts, and those who come to the session will be able to help ensure this portion of their own food security.
The day of instruction will teach those who participate how they can use soil, trays, and seeds to start their own crops at home, and all they need to add is fresh water. Each student in the event will receive a kit that includes these components, and they will also have an opportunity to visit the MicrogreensLA Farm #1 so that they can see how these small plants are grown on a large scale.
The group will meet in The South Bay Galleria Mall’s parking lot, and from there, they will walk the one block to the farm. The facility itself is located at 1815 Hawthorne Boulevard in Redondo Beach. A Print company can be called upon to produce growing guides and other handouts for an event like this.
