Physical Optics Corporation (POC) is expanding its operations in Torrance.
POC is a technology and advanced science company that serves homeland security, the defense and military sectors, and selected commercial markets.
President and CEO of POC, Kevin Walter, expects this year to be an extremely good one, with revenues for 2020 to be greater than $126 million. Walter has indicated that the company will be making investments in its production facilities in order to keep up with growing demands from its business. The company plans to make progress in innovative research and development and to focus on several strategic advanced programs and thrust areas.
POC already holds over 160 patents that have been issued around the world and cover 60 different technologies. It is known for its mission computer networks for the army, air force, navy and marine platforms, and its mass storage systems.
During this year, the company has expanded its operating facilities to over 170,000 square feet and added 51 new jobs. POC has over 327 employees, including 136 engineers and 27 people who hold doctorate degrees. Employees of such large companies often use Business Cards to network.
