New transit center opens in Torrance

The Mary K. Giordano Regional Transit Center is now open in Torrance.

The center is along Crenshaw Boulevard, covering five acres, and will at some point become the Metro C Light Rail’s final stop. This new facility will increase access to the area of Greater Los Angeles and provide access to several of the most visited destinations in Southern California.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters said there will now be enhanced transport services throughout the region of South Bay as it will provide connections to places such as Sofi Station and Hollywood Park. She added that it will unite people from many different backgrounds as they travel to their destinations.

As such new centers will attract people travelling for many different purposes, this can be an ideal opportunity for local Print shops to assist with printing schedules and highlighting various destinations for tourists, students, and businesspeople.

Mary K. Giordano, from whom the center takes its name, was a city of Torrance employee for 30 years. She played a significant role in finding ways of funding projects that would benefit the city and the wider region, and was also instrumental in funding the center by securing grants of $26m.

Jim Specht, Giordano’s husband, said that Torrance will now be part a light rail system he believes will be of great benefit for generations to come.
