New deputy city manager appointed in Torrance

Ian Dailey is now the Deputy City Manager of Torrance and the newest member of the Executive Staff of the city.

In this role, Dailey will work to advance the initiatives of the city’s strategic plan, as well as ensure an approach driven by data is used for development incentive programs, legislative affairs, and economic growth. Such appointments often require the need for business card printing services.

Dailey was previously the Assistant Finance Director for the city and was responsible for the execution of ideas put forward by the Finance Director and overseeing daily operations for the Finance Department. This included the areas of revenue operations, payroll, budgeting, and accounts payable. He was also in charge of implementing new payroll and budget systems for the city, as well as efforts to obtain the first Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the city.

His career in the public sector began in the city of Torrance as a staff assistant in the Transit Department, where he supported the administrative staff on various projects.

Prior to working for the city of Torrance. Dailey was the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Administration at the Lexington Public School District in Lexington, Massachusetts. In this position, he supervised all matters related to financial issues and oversaw the school lunch program, transportation, and human resources.
