New charging stations for Torrance

Torrance residents who are interested in “going green’ when it comes to their vehicle will now have some extra options in charging up their car.

City representatives and spokespersons for several automakers recently announced the new facilities as being open for business. To mark the occasion, a ceremony was held at the Katy Geissert Civic Center Library.

On hand for the event was mayor Patrick Frey, who remarked that there has been a lot of growth in the market for these types of vehicles, and this will help to meet the needs of the community members who choose to use them.

To represent the fact that those who use the charging stations will no longer be dependent on gasoline, a gas pump hose was used in place of the traditional ribbon for the cutting ceremony. A banner printing firm can create a variety of decorations that would be well suited to such an event, as well as Brochures that provide more details about the stations and how to use them.

After the station was opened, there was an exhibition by 9 automakers and also 41 owners of electric vehicles who spoke about them and gave more information about driving one to anyone who was interested in learning more. This was held to mark National Drive Electric Week, which was sponsored by the Sierra club, Plug in America, and the Electric Auto Association.
