Luminit Automotive Technologies (LAT) has been awarded a contract with a high-end supplier of automotive lighting as part of the production of a European luxury brand vehicle for 2020 through 2021.
LAT is headquartered in Hsinchu, Taiwan with additional manufacturing facilities in Kunshan, Chin, and a supporting research and development team in Torrance. A manufacturer of optics and micro-optics, its Curved Injection Molded (CIM) parts provide next-generation lighting for rear combination and LED daytime running lights.
Stanley Kao, president and CEO of LAT, said that the use of LEDs in automotive lighting enables engineers to have greater freedom to design daytime running lights and taillights that not only provide greater functionality but are also more fashionable. The CIM process allows for the better diffusion of light at all angles. Stationery printers are often used to create printed materials with more information about such processes.
Kao added that the CIM process, which employs microstructures on the surfaces of the lights, can be used on any free-form surface, both two- and three-dimensional, so that shapes can be made according to the requirements of any customer. The CIM parts are AMECA approved and conform to all automotive standards.
Kao concluded by saying that his company’s lights are supporting a new era in automotive lighting and it is exciting to be part of this initiative.
