Conference encourages local businesses to hire veterans

The iVet Career and Networking Conference is taking place in Torrance this October, presented by the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, Employment Development Department, America ICARE, and Heros2Hired.

In preparation for this event, a free four-day iVet Academy will be held on job preparation for veterans. The Chamber will also be hosting a Hiring Manager Workshop for employers.

Those veterans who wish to receive a job interview at the conference must sign up in advance. Employers will also have booths set up to advertise job openings they currently have available in their organization. The opening ceremony of the conference will feature Torrance mayor Patrick Furey and assembly member Al Muratsuchi.

The important conference will no doubt be widely advertised in Torrance, some of the veterans planning to attend may have Copies of their résumé printed by their local Stationery printers since it is the most important tool they can have while applying for jobs.

The iVet Career and Networking Conference is being held at the Toyota Automobile Museum on October 10 from 9:30 pm - 2:00 pm. The iNet Academy will take place at the Torrance Chamber of Commerce Offices from October 6 - 9 and the Hiring Manager Workshops will occur on October 3 from 8:30 am - 11:30 am in the same location.
